Software Developer Engineer in Test

Role Overview

As a Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) at BECU, you will ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of BECU’s digital experiences. You will embed quality throughout the development lifecycle to enable faster, more confident releases.

What You’ll Do

• Test Strategy & Automation Development: Design and build automated test cases (including integration, load, and UI) using C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Quality Engineering Ownership: Create test scenarios from requirements and integrate them into CI pipelines aligned with sprint goals
• Defect Analysis & Debugging: Debug applications/services, perform root cause analysis, and proactively identify risks or patterns
• Continuous Improvement: Review code flow and system interactions to improve test strategies and automation coverage
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, QA, analysts, and product teams to ensure solutions are testable, scalable, and aligned with business needs

Requirements

• Must be a resident of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA, or VA
• In-office expectation (for nearby WA): If located in Washington state within reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, work Tuesdays & Wednesdays at HQ
• For approved remote locations outside the commute distance, the role will be remote

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with enterprise CI/test automation for digital banking or consumer-facing platforms (implied by focus areas)
• Background in integration/load/UI automation and debugging in complex systems (implied by responsibilities)
