About the role

Role Overview

Autodesk’s COO division is seeking a Software Architect to help build and improve cloud-native experiences for internal and external customers at massive scale. You’ll work with the COO architecture team to drive architectural innovation, improve quality attributes (security, scalability, resilience), and mentor engineers across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discussions across teams in a matrix organization
Mentor developers on emerging technologies and career development
Evaluate future architecture directions via modeling and prototyping
Ensure architecture meets quality attributes: security, scalability, resilience
Influence system design and implementation for cloud-native (frontend and backend) experiences
Design and implement high-quality code for complex areas
Partner with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into software
Share and evangelize technical information; present updates to Autodesk management
Contribute to near- and long-term technology roadmaps
Apply and promote industry best practices
Act as a subject matter expert in established and emerging cloud-native technologies

Requirements (Minimum)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering (or equivalent experience)
10+ years as a software engineer or architect with strong cloud technology focus
Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience
Proven ability to lead architecture for globally deployed commercial software at scale
High ownership and collaborative mindset
Deep knowledge of cloud-native development tools/languages/frameworks
Working knowledge of LLMs and machine learning, including hands-on experience with ML tools

Nice to Have (From Mentioned Tech)

Experience with Material UI, React, Redux, Web Components
Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
Experience with AWS-based server-side infrastructure
