About the role

Role Overview

Software Applications Developer (Appian) at Lawelawe Technology Services. You will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade applications on the Appian platform to support a federal client’s mission.

Responsibilities

Partner with stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications
Lead requirements sessions and architect Appian solutions
Develop Appian applications including:
- Process models
- SAIL forms
- Records and interfaces
Write secure, efficient, and well-documented code aligned with Appian and organizational standards
Integrate Appian with enterprise/third-party systems to ensure seamless data flow
Manage data migration, synchronization, and data integrity across systems
Create and execute comprehensive test plans to validate functionality and performance
Troubleshoot defects and technical issues across the application lifecycle
Lead/participate in code reviews to maintain quality and maintainability
Mentor IT specialists and deliver training/knowledge transfer to end users and stakeholders
Maintain technical documentation and training materials
Monitor and maintain Appian environment health to ensure high availability and performance

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
4+ years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Appian applications
Appian Certified Lead Developer certification (required)
Strong knowledge of Appian features: process flows, SAIL forms, Web APIs, RPA, Portals, and AI
Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience designing data models and familiarity with RDBMS concepts
Understanding of Agile and Scrum
Experience migrating Appian applications across environments
Strong integration experience with internal/external web services
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a remote work environment
US citizenship required

Nice to Have (Bonus)

Experience supporting federal government clients or working in highly regulated environments
Additional Appian certifications or advanced technical credentials
Expertise in enterprise integrations, DevOps pipelines, or cloud-based technologies
