Snowflake Data Engineer

Role Overview

Snowflake Data Engineer at Lithia & Driveway. You will build, implement, and support scalable cloud data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows, with a focus on automation, performance, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data ingestion and transformation processes into Snowflake and downstream platforms
• Migrate on-prem SQL Server data processes to Azure-based solutions
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related tools
• Develop, test, and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and data pipelines for accuracy and efficiency
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing for proactive pipeline issue resolution
• Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver data integration and MDM solutions
• Apply data standards, governance, and documentation across workflows
• Support CI/CD processes to improve deployment automation and code quality
• Mentor junior team members and improve engineering practices
• Participate in Tier-3 on-call rotation to support production systems

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related work
• Strong SQL skills (query optimization, complex joins, stored procedures)
• Hands-on experience building cloud data pipelines using Azure tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS)
• Hands-on Snowflake experience (loading, transformation, performance tuning)
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with version control (Git/TFS) and CI/CD
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication and collaboration in cross-functional environments

Nice to Haves

• Exposure to Python for data processing/automation/scripting
• Experience with Databricks, PostgreSQL, dbt, or similar tooling
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cortex, Copilot)
