About the role
Role Overview
Modea is seeking a Sitecore Certified Web Developer / Software Engineer to join its growing team. You will design, implement, test, and continuously deliver new features and products for enterprise-scale CMS platforms, working as part of cross-functional teams on client projects.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver high-quality software for enterprise CMS environments.
- Work across the delivery lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, and continuous delivery.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, UX designers, project managers, strategists, and analysts.
- Implement CMS capabilities such as content modeling, theming, custom module development, and configuration management.
- Support integrations and platform features including search APIs, migrate APIs, and (optionally) headless CMS architectures.
- Develop performant, data-driven web experiences using modern frontend technologies.
- Participate in multi-environment delivery (local/QA/UAT/production) and CI pipeline workflows.
- Champion software engineering best practices and continuously improve individually and as a team.
Requirements (Must Have)
- Professional software engineering experience.
- Sitecore Developer Certification.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and a collaborative, consultant mentality.
- Strong problem-solving skills; naturally curious and engaged with technology.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Pleasant to work with; effective team player.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Client-facing experience.
- CMS experience with Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore, or Optimizely.
- Frontend experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Preference for Next.js and GraphQL experience.
- DevOps experience across environments and hosting/on-prem/cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Docker.
Work Location & Work Style
- Full-time role with flexibility to work fully-office, fully-remote, or hybrid.
- Employees can work at any location in Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina, unless required by job responsibilities.
- Modern offices in Blacksburg, VA with occasional travel as needed.
