Site Reliability Engineering Manager

Role Overview

Join Flywire as a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager. You’ll drive reliability, automation, and performance across Flywire’s cloud-based infrastructure while coordinating daily SRE team activities and mentoring engineers.

Key Missions

• Coordinate daily SRE activities: track success against established goals and objectives.
• Mentor and lead initiatives: promote best practices to achieve production excellence.
• Improve processes and tooling: identify opportunities to boost productivity.
• Incident response & on-call: participate in on-call support and contribute to incident handling.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with other disciplines on design, deployment, operations, and optimization of services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, including 2–5 years leading/managing and developing SRE teams.
• Comfort with container ecosystems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with build systems and CI/CD tools.
• At least one programming language (software engineering is a core part of the work).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with empathy and an enablement mindset.
• Ability to take ownership of complex systems and uncover improvement opportunities.
• Comfortable evolving toward a generalizing specialist (“t-shaped” team building).

Nice to Have

• Proficiency with testing techniques such as TDD or BDD.
