About the role
Role Overview
Vynca is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (E3) to build and operate the infrastructure powering its healthcare technology platform. You’ll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, software engineering, and operations to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and performant.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and impact, partnering closely with Software Engineers, Product teams, and Data teams.
Remote: must work East Coast business hours (EST).
Responsibilities
- Design & manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform (Terraform as the source of truth).
- Operate and scale Kubernetes production workloads.
- Package and deploy applications using Helm and infrastructure automation tools.
- Build and improve distributed, event-driven systems, including:
- event sourcing concepts
- partitioning
- event ordering
- replay and failure recovery
- Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to balance reliability and delivery speed.
- Develop automation for deployment, scaling, monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows.
- Own platform observability (metrics, logs, tracing, monitoring, alerting).
- Lead incident response and run blameless postmortems, driving corrective actions.
- Collaborate on capacity planning, performance optimization, and resilient design with Product/Engineering.
- Implement security best practices aligned with HIPAA and SOC 2 (and other compliance needs).
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide production operational support.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Platform/Cloud Infrastructure or similar.
- Hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform (modules, state management, deployment automation).
- Experience operating and supporting Kubernetes in production.
- Hands-on experience with Helm for application deployment/management.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures, including event sourcing concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or high-growth technology environments.
