About the role
Role Overview
Vynca is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (E3) to design, build, and operate infrastructure for its healthcare technology platform. You’ll work across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and operations to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and performant.
This is a remote role requiring East Coast business hours (EST), with meaningful ownership and hands-on operational impact.
What You’ll Do
- AWS Infrastructure (IaC): Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform as the source of truth.
- Kubernetes Operations: Operate, maintain, and scale production workloads running on Kubernetes.
- Application Deployment: Package, deploy, and manage applications using Helm and automation tools.
- Distributed/Event-Driven Systems: Build and improve distributed systems, including event sourcing, partitioning, ordering, replay, and failure recovery.
- Reliability Engineering: Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, manage error budgets, and balance reliability with engineering velocity.
- Automation & Incident Response: Automate deployment, scaling, monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows to reduce manual work.
- Observability: Own platform observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting).
- Production Reliability Leadership: Lead incident response, facilitate blameless postmortems, and drive corrective actions.
- Capacity/Performance: Partner with Product and Engineering on capacity planning and performance optimization.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices to support HIPAA and SOC 2 (and other requirements).
- On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation and provide production operational support.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Platform/Cloud Infrastructure or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience operating production AWS environments.
- Proven Terraform experience (module development, state management, deployment automation).
- Experience operating/assisting production Kubernetes environments.
- Hands-on experience with Helm for deploying/managing applications.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures / event sourcing.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Software Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
