About the role

Role Overview

Vynca is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (E3) to build and operate the infrastructure powering its healthcare technology platform. The role is a hands-on engineering position focused on reliability, scalability, security, and performance across AWS, Kubernetes, and observability/automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design & manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform (Terraform as the source of truth).
  • Operate and scale production workloads running on Kubernetes.
  • Package and deploy applications using Helm and infrastructure automation tools.
  • Build and improve distributed, event-driven systems (event sourcing, partitioning, ordering, replay, failure recovery).
  • Define and maintain SLIs/SLOs and error budgets to balance reliability and delivery speed.
  • Automate deployments, scaling, monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows.
  • Own platform observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting).
  • Lead incident response, run blameless postmortems, and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with Product/Engineering on capacity planning, performance optimization, and resilient design.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices aligned with HIPAA and SOC 2.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide production operational support.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or similar.
  • Strong hands-on experience operating production AWS workloads.
  • Proven Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform (including module development, state management, and deployment automation).
  • Experience operating/supporting production Kubernetes environments.
  • Hands-on experience deploying/managing applications with Helm.
  • Experience with distributed systems and/or event-driven architectures, including event sourcing concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Software Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or high-growth technology environments.
