About the role

Role Overview

Vynca is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (E3) to design, build, and operate the infrastructure powering its healthcare technology platform. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and operations, with significant ownership and impact on reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

The role is remote, requiring you to work East Coast business hours (EST).

Responsibilities

Design and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform as the source of truth
Operate and scale production workloads running on Kubernetes
Package and deploy applications using Helm and automation tooling
Build and improve distributed, event-driven systems, including topics like:
- event sourcing
- partitioning and event ordering
- replay and failure recovery
Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to balance reliability and delivery velocity
Automate deployment, scaling, monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows to reduce manual effort
Own platform observability (metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting)
Lead incident response, facilitate blameless postmortems, and drive long-term corrective actions
Partner with Product and Engineering on capacity planning, performance optimization, and resilient system design
Implement and maintain security best practices to support HIPAA, SOC 2, and other compliance needs
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide operational support for production systems

Requirements

3–5 years experience in SRE/DevOps/Platform/Cloud infrastructure or similar roles
Strong hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS
Proven Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform (including module development, state management, and deployment automation)
Experience operating/supporting Kubernetes in production
Hands-on experience deploying/managing applications with Helm
Hands-on experience with distributed systems and/or event-driven architectures (including event sourcing concepts)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or other high-growth technology environments
Familiarity with security/compliance practices aligned with HIPAA and SOC 2
