About the role
Role Overview
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure availability, performance, and operational excellence for large-scale distributed systems in production. You’ll work at the boundary of development and operations, using software engineering to improve reliability and reduce operational toil.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, instrument, and refine SLOs/SLIs and error budgets for critical services; use metrics to guide prioritization and engineering decisions.
- Lead incident response and drive resolution for production issues; act as an incident commander when needed and ensure high-quality post-incident reviews.
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Datadog) for actionable operational visibility.
- Build and maintain on-call processes, runbooks, and escalation paths to reduce MTTD/MTTR while protecting engineer well-being.
- Automate operational toil by building production-grade tooling.
Location & Employment
- 100% remote (Continental United States)
- Full-time W2 employment with Bright Vision Technologies (in-house SOW engagement)
- Long-term, multi-year engagement
- No C2C/1099/third-party arrangements
Requirements
- 5+ years experience (as stated)
- Technical capability: technical coding assessment is mandatory
