Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Join Openly as a Site Reliability Engineer II. You’ll build, test, and maintain the infrastructure powering Openly’s insurance products and customer experiences, working across a range of technologies in a remote-first environment.

Key Missions

• Build internal tools to help other engineers and teams understand and operate the system
• Design and implement security best practices for the team and infrastructure
• Reduce manual work through automation, including building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve production systems with a focus on stability, performance, and scalability
• Deliver end-to-end system ownership from start to finish in a reasonable timeframe
• Share knowledge with the team and communicate complex technical challenges to non-technical audiences
• Understand and mitigate the impact of running software in production

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional/production experience in infrastructure automation (developing and using automation tools/techniques)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, preferably Terraform
• Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Go
• Proven ability to create improvements in business-critical systems (reliability, performance, scalability)
• Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
