About the role

Role Overview

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / L3 Support Engineer on the Platform Engineering team. You will take ownership of the operational health, reliability, and availability of SS&C’s FedRAMP High cloud platform, combining SRE practices with advanced production support.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production service health, availability, performance, and security.
  • Proactively identify emerging issues using telemetry, logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production incidents across application and infrastructure layers.
  • Serve as the L3 escalation point for operational issues not resolved by L1/L2.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
  • Lead incident response: coordination, communication, and post-incident reviews.
  • Perform root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop/maintain runbooks, dashboards, alerts, and standard operating procedures.
  • Improve observability (monitoring, alerting, dashboards, service-level indicators).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Automate operational tasks to reduce toil and support resilient/secure services.
  • Support deployments, infrastructure changes, and maintenance.
  • Assist with disaster recovery exercises, resilience testing, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Ensure operational activities comply with FedRAMP High security and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to work on systems supporting FedRAMP High workloads.

Nice-to-Haves / Implied Qualifications

  • Experience with modern SRE/observability practices and engineering best practices to reduce operational toil.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response and perform root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with security/compliance requirements in a FedRAMP High environment.
