Role Overview
Site Reliability Engineer responsible for evolving and safeguarding Fabric’s healthcare infrastructure—improving resilience, scalability, and compliance while minimizing operational toil.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Kubernetes Orchestration
- Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes (EKS) clusters for enterprise-grade availability.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure object footprint across EC2, RDS, and S3 for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Build scalable infrastructure management with interfaces/guardrails that increase engineering agency while reducing cognitive load.
- Define “golden paths” for workload orchestration and integration with infrastructure dependencies.
Automation & AI-Assisted Operations
- Create reusable GitHub Actions components to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
- Develop internal tools that replace manual operations with intelligent/autonomous systems.
- Explore and deploy agentic workflows for AI-assisted runbooks to automate complex and repetitive procedures.
Observability & Incident Management
- Evolve observability by maintaining reliable collection of metrics, traces, and logs to meet SLOs.
- Lead incident response and facilitate blameless postmortems to reduce MTTR.
- Define and monitor platform-level SLIs and SLOs for healthcare-grade performance.
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensure continuous compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Review architectures/proposals and identify technical/organizational risks early.
- Mentor engineers on reliability best practices; contribute a clinical-safety perspective in design reviews.
Requirements / Fit
- Treat provisioning, orchestration, observability, and security as engineering disciplines.
- Strong root-cause mindset; prefers systemic fixes over quick patches.
- Comfortable using AI/agentic tooling responsibly (understanding where it adds risk).
- Thrives in fast-paced, safety-critical environments with both pragmatism and rigor.
