Site Engineer

Role Overview

As a Growth-focused Fullstack Engineer at Vercel, you’ll drive user acquisition, conversion, and retention using highly performant, visually strong web experiences. You’ll work closely with marketing, sales, and product design to build dynamic landing pages, optimize conversion funnels, and ensure the reliability of the acquisition journey.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex frontend projects that help establish Vercel as a brand and product marketing leader.
• Collaborate with growth/marketing teams to A/B test landing pages for lead generation across multiple channels.
• Design and develop scalable web applications, services, and APIs with an emphasis on UX and performance.
• Contribute to and uphold the design system and UX standards (interactions, micro-animations, layout consistency).
• Improve engineering processes, tools, and systems to scale the codebase and team productivity.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs with quick, high-quality resolutions.
• Write technical documentation and maintain internal tools.
• Review and provide feedback on other engineers’ contributions.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize for conversion, speed, and reliability across the funnel.
• Think critically about foundational parts of the Vercel app for maintainability and extensibility.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience (React/JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, or similar).
• Strong proficiency with Next.js and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks.
• Fullstack experience: comfortable designing/consuming APIs and working with services.
• Deep understanding of SEO principles, especially performance, accessibility, and search optimization.
• Proven knowledge of A/B testing and conversion rate optimization.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills (marketing, design, product).
• Strong sense for UX and attention to visual quality.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with the Vercel platform.
• Background in web design, interest in design systems.
• Interest in developer tooling.

Work Location

• If within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin: in-office anchor days Monday, Tuesday, Friday.
• Otherwise: fully remote.
