About the role
Role Overview
Brilliant Infotech Inc. is seeking an experienced Shopify Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale eCommerce solutions on Shopify. The role requires deep expertise in Shopify Plus, Headless Commerce, Hydrogen, Liquid, and modern web technologies, with strong architectural leadership to deliver scalable and high-performing digital commerce experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design for complex Shopify / Shopify Plus implementations.
- Define scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance architecture for enterprise eCommerce.
- Design and implement Headless Commerce using Shopify Hydrogen, React, and Storefront APIs.
- Architect, develop, and oversee custom Shopify themes and applications using Liquid, React, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Own integration architecture between Shopify and enterprise systems including:
- ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM
- Payment gateways, tax engines, shipping providers
- Lead platform migrations from Magento, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, or custom-built platforms to Shopify.
- Enforce best practices for performance optimization, SEO, accessibility, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Perform architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and UX/development teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Shopify and frontend teams.
- Support effort estimation, solution proposals, technical documentation, and pre-sales discussions.
- Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, monitoring, and infrastructure best practices.
- Stay current with Shopify and Hydrogen enhancements and eCommerce best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 11+ years total IT experience.
- 6+ years hands-on experience in Shopify and Shopify Plus development and architecture.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise eCommerce solutions.
Technical Skills
- Shopify: Shopify Plus, Liquid, Hydrogen, Storefront API, Admin API, Shopify Functions, Shopify CLI, Shopify app/theme development.
- Frontend: React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Tailwind CSS, Next.js (preferred).
- Backend/Integration: Node.js, REST APIs, GraphQL, microservices architecture, Jamstack concepts.
- Architecture: Headless Commerce, Hydrogen/Oxygen, Storefront API.
- DevOps/Cloud: CI/CD, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins, Docker, AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Monitoring: Monitoring and logging tools (unspecified).
- Integrations: ERP (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics/NetSuite), CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), OMS/PIM, payment gateways (Stripe/Adyen/PayPal/Authorize.net), shipping/fulfillment providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Plus Certification(s).
- Experience with Shopify Hydrogen/Oxygen implementations.
- Experience leading distributed development teams.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce business processes and customer journeys.
- Experience with multi-store, multi-region, multi-currency Shopify implementations.
