Senior Web Developer

Role Overview

Senior Web Software Engineer II on the CVS Health/Aetna Health website team. You will help deliver and improve a modern digital experience for millions of members, focusing on features that matter and continuous cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement digital solutions and systems using advanced technical expertise
• Contribute code and tests based on product/engineering criteria
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support the application in production
• Refactor and improve existing code to increase stability, scalability, and maintainability
• Lead discussions by communicating technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in software architecture design and contribute to technical direction
• Provide input on feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability
• Participate in knowledge sharing (code reviews, tech talks, workshops)
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with modern front-end web frameworks
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
• Strong communication skills and commitment to code standards and software quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Ability to translate large features into software design
• Knowledge of CircleCI
• Web accessibility knowledge
• Experience with TypeScript
• Familiarity with Agile principles
