Senior UX/UI Designer - Freelance (m/f/d)

Role overview

Senior UX/UI Designer (m/f/d) for banking & insurance client projects — freelance, 100% remote, starting immediately. The project is full-time and lasts 6 months or longer.

Responsibilities

• Create UX and UI design for digital products in banking/insurance, from research & concept to polished UI and final handover.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate qualitative and quantitative user research (e.g., interviews, usability tests) and translate insights into design decisions.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes based on user needs and research findings.
• Perform (re-)design work focused on usability and conversion for digital products, tools, and software solutions.
• Contribute to design systems in close collaboration with development teams.
• Present design work to client-side stakeholders, including senior management.
• Moderate workshops for ideation, requirements analysis, and conception.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within corporate structures alongside New Monday’s internal design team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in UX/UI design.
• An outstanding portfolio demonstrating both design thinking and visual craft (required).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including with senior-level stakeholders.
• Advanced Figma skills, including design systems, tokens, components, and variables (required).
• Confident use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and modern tooling as part of the daily design workflow.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Availability to start immediately and commit to a project duration of at least 6 months.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in banking/insurance or other regulated industries.
• Experience working in corporate structures.
