About the role
Role Overview
Pet Place is seeking a Senior UX Researcher reporting to the Manager of User Experience. The role is research-focused and supports product strategy through deep user insights, helping teams deliver intuitive, engaging, user-centered digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Research strategy & execution: Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research aligned to product and business goals (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, field studies) using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Insight generation & storytelling: Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and create artifacts such as reports, presentations, and journey maps to drive decision-making.
- Product & stakeholder influence: Partner with product, design, and engineering to embed insights across the product lifecycle and influence decisions with evidence-based recommendations.
- Research operations & scaling: Improve research processes, repositories, and best practices to enable continuous discovery and increase insight impact.
- Concepting & validation: Translate insights into user flows, wireframes, or lightweight prototypes to communicate ideas and test hypotheses.
- Advocacy: Promote a user-centered, research-driven mindset across the organization.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in UX research (or related field) with an end-to-end portfolio demonstrating measurable impact.
- Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Computer Science, Psychology, or related.
- Ability to combine qualitative and quantitative data and translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience owning research that influenced product direction and/or business outcomes.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management.
- Experience with research tools such as Qualtrics and survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey) and research repositories/tools (e.g., listed tools like Ballpark/Dig/… provided).
- Working knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Exposure to A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
- Proficiency with research and prototyping tools such as Figma and FigJam.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce, pet services, or health-related digital platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility for digital experiences.
