Senior UX Researcher (contract)
- Lead and support end-to-end UX research to improve a large, global knowledge platform.
- Conduct research using both quantitative and qualitative methods to understand user behaviors, motivations, and needs.
- Work in a remote-first, globally distributed environment, collaborating with product and research peers across time zones.
Responsibilities
- Define research goals, methodologies, timelines, and execution plans with UX Research leads and stakeholders.
- Scope and design studies, selecting appropriate quantitative and mixed-method approaches.
- Manage all phases of research:
- Survey design
- Participant recruitment
- Data collection
- Research operations
- Perform quantitative analysis and statistical interpretation, supported by data visualization and clear reporting.
- Run qualitative components when needed (e.g., interviews, diary studies, contextual inquiry).
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for product strategy and UX improvements.
- Communicate findings effectively via written reports and presentations to diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of UX Research experience, with strong emphasis on quantitative methods.
- Expertise in:
- Surveys
- Large-scale usability studies
- Diary studies
- UX benchmarking
- Strong capability in statistical analysis, data interpretation, and data visualization.
- Experience conducting qualitative research such as interviews and contextual inquiry.
- Proven ability to independently lead studies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; can clearly present complex findings.
- Strong organization and time management; manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, self-sufficient, able to identify and resolve blockers.
Nice to haves
- Multilingual abilities.
- Experience with open-source or volunteer communities.
- Familiarity with wiki-based platforms.
