Senior UX Engineer

Role Overview

Senior UX Engineer at ATPCO bridges the gap between design and development to build user-centered digital experiences. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver intuitive interfaces, evolve existing applications, and support ATPCO’s design system.

Responsibilities

• Front-End Development: Build and maintain interactive prototypes and user-facing interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue). Implement interactive features, write automated tests, and ensure responsive design.
• API Integration: Integrate REST APIs into front-end applications with secure data handling and efficient state management.
• UX/UI Design Implementation: Apply HCI principles to turn wireframes and mockups into production-ready experiences.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between design and engineering; participate in design and code reviews; align UX/UI work with business goals.
• User-Centered Development: Ensure accessibility compliance and use user metrics to drive improvements.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize front-end performance and troubleshoot issues across platforms.
• Design Systems: Contribute to the organization’s design system and create reusable components for consistency and efficiency.
• AI-Assisted Development: Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and automate repetitive tasks while maintaining UX standards.
• Continuous Improvement & Documentation: Stay current with front-end/design tools and recommend improvements; ensure design/technical artifacts are complete and managed to quality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience building UI components and interactive prototypes with modern frameworks (Angular/React/Vue).
• Ability to integrate REST APIs into front-end applications.
• Experience applying UX/UI practices (wireframes to production) and accessibility standards.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, responsive design, and user-focused iteration using metrics.
• Experience contributing to or working with design systems.
• Familiarity with automated testing practices.

Nice-to-Haves (from the posting)

• Use of AI-assisted coding tools such as Copilot/Codex/Claude Code.
• Experience with front-end architecture and optimization of larger applications.
• Ability to introduce new tools/technologies to improve productivity, quality, and conversions.
