Senior UX Designer shaping AI-powered experiences across Thomson Reuters’ product ecosystem. You will translate complex AI model capabilities into intuitive, user-centered workflows, collaborating across product, engineering, and data science to build responsible AI interactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design of AI-powered features, including:
- Agentic workflows
- Generative interactions
- Human-in-the-loop systems
- Partner closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, and Data Science to deliver experiences that balance innovation with responsible AI practices.
- Design and run usability testing and AI-specific validation studies to understand:
- User mental models
- Trust factors
- Interaction expectations
- Convert AI system behaviors and constraints into clear UX (e.g., hallucination behavior, confidence signals, deterministic vs. probabilistic outputs, and data quality effects).
- Prototype and iterate using tools such as Figma, Python notebooks, model sandboxes, or no-code AI orchestration.
- Perform end-to-end user research (objectives, recruiting, moderation, synthesis) and translate findings into roadmap and design decisions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional product design experience with a strong portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of complex workflows.
- Strong collaboration across product management, product engineering, data science, and related functions (research, analytics, content design, accessibility, UX engineering).
- Demonstrated familiarity with model behaviors and limitations, including hallucinations, confidence levels, and data quality impacts.
- Experience designing with AI / LLM technologies, including:
- Prompt design
- Generative UX
- Evaluating model output quality
- Deep systems thinking across multiple layers (UI, data inputs, model constraints, operational workflows).
- Strong interaction design and ability to simplify ambiguous AI behaviors into predictable experiences.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to influence decisions and explain design rationale.
- Experience shaping information architecture for large-scale content ecosystems (citation patterns, confidence signals, quality indicators).
Nice-to-Haves / Additional Context
- Comfort designing search, drafting, and review workflows for complex knowledge structures and trust-critical moments.
- Experience with model evaluation tooling, analytics dashboards, and prompt/version management.
- Domain exposure in environments such as newsroom tooling, legal research, tax & compliance, risk & fraud, or financial analysis.
- Track record of zero-to-one delivery and rapid iteration through ambiguity to derisk bets and accelerate product-market fit.
