About the role
Role overview
As a Senior User Experience (Human Factors) Researcher in Oracle Health, you will help reimagine the experience of Oracle’s healthcare applications. You’ll collaborate with clinicians, developers, product management, and UX teams across the product lifecycle to solve complex healthcare usability, safety, and workflow challenges.
What you’ll do
- Apply human factors expertise, relevant principles/standards, and appropriate research methods to healthcare technology problems.
- Conduct rigorous, empirical, and standardized research using quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Understand context of use, identify improvement opportunities, and validate design usefulness/success against user needs and established usability & safety goals.
- Lead studies of complex, dynamic interactions across clinical roles, care settings, products, and time horizons.
- Ensure work aligns with regulatory standards and supports quality and safety requirements.
- Produce research outputs that inform product strategy and design, validating effectiveness, safety, and usefulness.
- Partner with UX design and product leaders to ensure designs meet functional and end-user needs and follow industry heuristics.
Key responsibilities
- Design and lead complex research studies and support continuous design improvement across multiple projects.
- Gather and influence end-user requirements, translating them into designs that support usability and safety goals.
- Coordinate research activities, including recruiting representative participants with program managers.
- Identify and help mitigate safety hazards throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define and defend usability and safety goals for a product group and drive integration of goals and findings.
- Coach and collaborate with stakeholders using human factors expertise; provide education and feedback.
- Present research findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Informatics, or related field.
- 5+ years performing user research on software, preferably in safety-critical and/or regulated industries.
- Strong scientific foundation in research methods and areas such as cognition, ergonomics, perception, and human decision-making.

- Experience with Healthcare software.
