About the role

Role Overview

Senior User Experience Researcher focused on improving the usability, accessibility, and scholarly effectiveness of EBSCO’s research platforms. You’ll study how students, faculty, librarians, and researchers engage with academic content, discovery systems, and digital research workflows, and use findings to guide product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end research: plan, design, and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research across the product lifecycle
  • Translate research into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Partner with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to influence product direction and strategy
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and research best practices across teams
  • Run usability testing, interviews, surveys, and field studies
  • Synthesize findings into deliverables such as research reports, personas, journey maps, and frameworks
  • Promote accessibility, inclusivity, and equitable access in all research efforts

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, HCI, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Ability to turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear research direction
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • A portfolio demonstrating impact across complex problem spaces

Nice to Have / What Sets You Apart

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in HCI, Library & Information Science, Psychology, Education, or related
  • Experience researching with academic/library/scholarly audiences
  • Knowledge of information-seeking behavior, metadata, search relevance, or research evaluation practices
  • Experience working with institutional stakeholders (universities, consortia, research organizations)

Pay

  • USD $104,030 – $148,615 per year
