Senior User Experience Designer

Role Overview

Hudl is seeking a Senior UX Designer passionate about creating powerful digital experiences for high school coaches, athletes, and their teams. In this role, you’ll lead UX design for products that help organizations run more effectively across areas like video analysis, team management, and recruiting opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer discovery loop: shape, conduct, and translate user research to uncover latent needs and the “why” behind feedback.
• Turn insights into direction: create actionable insights that inform physical and digital product experience strategy and design.
• Communicate and persuade: act as a visual and verbal storyteller by crafting and presenting compelling, forward-facing concepts.
• Clarify ambiguity: break down unclear problem spaces by identifying key user characteristics, environments, and market expectations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: partner closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Scrum, and Quality to define requirements and deliver focused experiences.
• Champion design quality: advocate for accessibility, tactility, and design excellence through delivery and release.
• Measure outcomes: after shipping, measure results and take ownership of how well solutions meet design and product needs.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Strong communication and presentation skills; able to justify ideas with solid rationale.
• Ability to be respectfully blunt in giving/receiving feedback.
• Product leadership mindset: think holistically about how features perform within the full Hudl suite.
• Iterative prototyping skills using low/high-fidelity prototyping and wireframing tools.
• Critical problem-solving that balances user, technical, business, and design constraints.
• Organizational skills to determine the right level of design/research to reach deliverables.
• Experience working with the Hudl design system (Uniform) and collaborating with the design system team.

Location / Remote

• Preferred: live near Hudl offices in Lincoln and Omaha.
• Open to remote candidates based in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin, Dallas, or Phoenix.
