Senior User Experience Designer

Role Overview

Join Expel as a Senior User Experience Designer to improve Workbench, the core product. You’ll lead research, synthesize insights, collaborate cross-functionally, and guide product vision through experiments and iterative design.

Key Missions

• Conduct user and market research to understand personas, use cases, and jobs-to-be-done.
• Design lean experiments to test hypotheses, measure outcomes, and iterate rapidly.
• Collaborate with partners across product management, engineering, UX, and Secure Operations leadership to ensure the team tackles the right problems with the best solutions.

• Strong interaction design skills and curiosity for technically complex domains.
• Enjoys spending time with users; comfortable using user analytics.
• Ability to clearly articulate design problems, tradeoffs, and impact of different approaches.
• Strong communication to keep product partners aligned on direction and next steps.
• Effective low-fi sketching and prototyping to get feedback and iterate quickly.
• Solid UX practice across research, prototyping, interaction design, design systems, and workshop facilitation.
• Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and learning from iteration.
• Willingness to dive into technical details with engineers when needed.
• Experience designing workflows and communicating information so users can make informed decisions.
• Proficiency with UX tools such as Figma (and/or Adobe XD).

Requirements / Experience

• Minimum 4 years experience on a cross-functional product team working with product managers and engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing for SaaS, e-commerce, productivity software, or industrial applications.
• Experience in cybersecurity domain (preferred but not required).
• Experimenting and adopting AI in your workflow.
