Senior Typescript Backend Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer for a sweepstakes-based iGaming platform. You’ll help design and scale backend services powering gameplay, wallets, payments, promotions, and player account management, moving ideas from concept to production quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design API-first backend services and build microservice-oriented systems that are modular, resilient, and independently deployable.
• Build and maintain reliable REST/GraphQL APIs and third-party integrations (payments, KYC/identity, fraud, analytics).
• Own backend features end-to-end: design → implementation → production rollout → operational support.
• Implement secure, audit-friendly transaction processing for deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, and settlement workflows.
• Ensure consistency, traceability, and integrity across high-volume financial operations and asynchronous workflows.
• Collaborate with AppSec and compliance partners to align with PCI DSS expectations (access control, data handling, logging, vulnerability remediation).
• Work autonomously in a startup environment; support systems that may span on-prem and cloud.
• Use AI platforms to accelerate development and testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years designing, building, and scaling backend services using TypeScript + Node.js.
• Strong system architecture and experience building scalable, reliable services.
• Solid database skills, especially PostgreSQL.
• Security-first mindset with focus on data integrity and traceability.
• Experience with transactional, audit-friendly systems and asynchronous workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Comfortable integrating with payment/identity/fraud/analytics systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with FinTech, gaming/casino, payments, regulatory environments.
• WebSockets or real-time systems experience.
