Senior Terraform Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Terraform Engineer to lead the design, development, and governance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in a cloud environment. You’ll act as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and contributing to cloud architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead IaC design, development, and governance with Terraform
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules
• Support production infrastructure changes
• Integrate Terraform into CI/CD pipelines
• Help establish best practices for safe and scalable cloud automation
• Mentor engineers and participate in cloud architecture decisions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years overall IT experience
• 4+ years hands-on Terraform experience
• Experience integrating Terraform with CI/CD pipelines
• 4+ years cloud platform experience (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Strong understanding of IaC principles

Nice to Have

• GCP experience
• Terraform certifications
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation tools
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture decisions

Contract & Location

• 6-month contract-to-full-time opportunity
• Fully remote for the first 12 months, then required to relocate to Springfield, MO and work on-site thereafter
