About the role

Role Overview

Join Kolibri Games’ Idle Bank Tycoon team in Berlin as a Senior Technical QA Tester (f/m/d). You’ll own game quality end-to-end, from feature testing and automation through performance profiling and process improvements, working embedded with Product, Game Design, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end QA coverage for features: identify QA flows/edge cases, support release sign-off, and monitor after release.
Design, write, and review test plans and test maps; review other QA submissions and set QA strategy for complex features.
Perform technical QA analysis when needed, including:
- Runtime profiling, memory analysis
- CPU/GPU usage analysis
- Build size validation for iOS and Android
Monitor and investigate regressions such as frame rate drops, load time increases, and APK/IPA size changes across builds.
Coordinate and run team playtests and continuously monitor release performance; raise issues early.
Drive continuous improvements to QA process and tooling, partnering with the QA Manager on priorities and workload.
Run and maintain automated test suites on Kolibri’s in-house Test Automation Platform; convert manual tests into automated ones.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on manual QA/testing experience across the full test lifecycle (ideally mobile/gaming).
Solid understanding of mobile game performance metrics (profiling, memory, build size, frame pacing) for iOS/Android.
Experience with test management tools (e.g., Xray, TestRail, Zephyr) and Agile/Scrum workflows using Jira.
Experience coordinating QA workload across internal and external testers.
Familiarity with AI-assisted testing/triage/workflow automation.
Basic Python knowledge to run automated suites and help convert manual tests to automation via the in-house platform.
Excellent English communication (written and verbal) across cross-functional teams.
Proactive, ownership-driven approach; comfortable deciding in ambiguity.

Desirable Skills

Extensive QA experience in mobile F2P/LiveOps.
CI/CD experience with Jenkins or GitLab.
Familiarity with Unity.
Hands-on mobile profiling tools (e.g., Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler).
Familiarity with Firebase, SDKs, and third-party plugins.
Basic SQL and familiarity with data pipelines.
