Role overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Strava, you will lead complex, high-priority security programs across multiple cross-functional teams. You’ll drive end-to-end delivery of multi-quarter security initiatives, coordinate execution across departments, and own program communications.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end delivery of multi-quarter security initiatives across teams.
• Coordinate execution between engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
• Own program communications, including clear status updates, key metrics, and executive briefings.
• Identify and mitigate risks early using structured assessments of dependencies, resources, and requirements.

Requirements

• Experience managing complex technical programs and strong understanding of security concepts.
• Ability to partner with engineering and product teams to implement secure, scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated success executing initiatives involving security controls, risk reduction, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, NIST CSF).
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle: planning, prioritization, dependency management, and release coordination.
• Ability to define program scope, success metrics, and milestone plans aligned with broader product/engineering/security strategies.
• Proactive, structured approach to ambiguous, evolving problem spaces.
• Track record fostering collaboration across engineering, product design, legal, IT, and operations.
• 4+ years of program management experience delivering complex software or security programs in an engineering-driven organization.
• Ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive aligned decisions.
