Senior Technical Program Manager, Product Development Acceleration

Role overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (Product Development Acceleration) in Zillow Research & Insights (ZRI), you will lead and build AI-enabled internal tools that help product teams learn faster and make better product decisions. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on orchestrating the portfolio’s strategy, sequencing, and execution without relying on dedicated engineering headcount.

Responsibilities

• Technical program strategy & sequencing
  • Own and evolve the Product Dev Acceleration solutions suite
  • Partner with leadership to define the portfolio roadmap and operationalize it
  • Create structured programs: milestones, success criteria, risk mitigations, and dependencies
  • Bring technical constraints, dependency mapping, and risk analysis into roadmap decisions
• Cross-functional execution & delivery
  • Act as the connective layer across Research, Product, Engineering, and Design
  • Identify, surface, and mitigate technical, organizational, and dependency risks
  • Proactively resolve blockers to protect delivery timelines
  • Measure success with usage, reliability, and learning-impact metrics; iterate based on evidence
• Architecture & technical fluency (tool building)
  • Architect, build, and iterate AI-native / agentic tools in modern AI coding environments
  • Make architecture and prioritization decisions for scalability, usability, and long-term durability
  • Embed responsible AI practices and data privacy safeguards
• Organizational integration & change management
  • Lead change management to embed capabilities into existing operational rhythms (planning, documentation, reviews)
  • Drive adoption to ensure durable integration across teams

Requirements

• Senior individual-contributor ownership of technical program strategy, sequencing, and delivery
• Ability to build and iterate AI-enabled internal tools (without dedicated engineering headcount)
• Strong cross-functional leadership across Research, Product, Engineering, and Design
• Focus on measuring impact (usage, reliability, learning) and iterating from evidence

Nice to haves

• Deep familiarity with responsible AI and data privacy practices in internal tools
• Experience operationalizing research into everyday product development workflows
