About the role

Role Overview

Join Babylist as a Senior Technical Program Manager (Merchandising). You’ll be the first dedicated technical partner for the merchandising team—owning end-to-end delivery across the product lifecycle and leading decisions around a Product Information Management (PIM) system to centralize product data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the roadmap product lifecycle across Merchandising and Owned Brands: discovery → definition/validation → development → launch → iteration.
  • Lead the evaluation and build/buy decision for a PIM system to centralize product data, descriptions, images, and specifications across channels.
  • Identify greenfield opportunities by embedding with merchandising teams and building trusted relationships to understand processes and pain points.
  • Define and use meaningful metrics and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver solutions that work with real-world external vendors.
  • Translate ambiguous priorities into executable projects and manage delivery through cross-functional stakeholder needs.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in applying AI in practice (not just conceptually); experience at teams that use AI daily.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and turn unclear priorities into plans.
  • Experience with systems integration, data flows, APIs, and automation of manual processes.
  • Experience building internal tools/operational technology, with understanding that tech must fit complex human workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly analytical: uses data and process improvement to set objective priorities and action items.
  • Product management background: 5+ years working in an agile development environment.
  • Builder mindset: independently prototype/shipping/deploy solutions and enjoy finding and solving problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfort discussing system architecture with technical counterparts.
  • Experience with vendor-based operational realities (build solutions that account for external systems and partners).
