Senior Technical Program Manager, Enterprise

Role Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), Enterprise at Instacart, you’ll lead complex, cross-functional technical programs that improve Instacart’s enterprise platform and help retailers transition and scale across offerings. This role blends technical leadership, program execution, and executive-level communication to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end programs: define requirements, manage execution, mitigate risks, and deliver on time with high-quality results.
• Evolve the Enterprise platform to effectively meet retailer needs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, Design, and Business Development.
• Navigate high ambiguity and complexity while maintaining strong urgency, efficiency, and accountability.
• Make decisions on scope and technical trade-offs and build executive-level narratives.
• Lead planning and high quality technical execution for large engineering programs.
• Drive program collaboration by unraveling dependencies and improving cross-team communication.

Team Focus

• The Enterprise TPM team supports a smooth transition of retailers to Instacart’s platform and its growth across offerings.
• Work spans Instacart’s multi-sided marketplace and includes platform evolution and data/ML/AI and GenAI initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Proven ability to lead large technical engineering programs with high ambiguity, complexity, and visibility.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills across product, engineering, data/ML, and business stakeholders.
• Comfort operating independently and proactively across organizational boundaries.
• Strong judgment in scope and technical trade-off decisions, with the ability to craft executive narratives.
