About the role

Role overview

The Deep Learning Software Team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (AI Software) to lead software initiatives and help enable Gen AI model development for NVIDIA researchers and engineers. The role drives engineering programs at a fast pace, ensuring strong planning, coordination, and execution across multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-company teams to plan programs, coordinate execution, and meet business objectives
  • Lead engineering program management across:
    • planning, forecasting, documentation, scheduling
    • effective meetings, multi-faceted prioritization
    • dependency management, reporting
    • escalation and resolution of critical/blocking issues
  • Guide teams in the use of Agile methodologies
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure program effectiveness and identify improvement areas
  • Report program status to senior management with insights and recommendations
  • Coordinate with multi-functional leads to drive organizational alignment and streamline processes
  • Work with matrixed, multi-functional teams on advanced and complex, sometimes conflicting, customer requirements
  • Moderate technical discussions to reach successful outcomes
  • Act as a liaison between developers and customers (technical and non-technical audiences)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field; demonstrated program management expertise and mastery of technical/management practices
  • 10+ years program management experience, including leading global projects across multiple time zones
  • Proven ability engaging and moderating successful partnerships with engineering teams and vendors
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across technical/non-technical audiences
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles and enterprise systems quality requirements
  • Strong multitasking, thoroughness, and rapid context switching
  • Knowledge of Agile, plus project planning and task tracking tools
  • Experience with AI training environments and resource capacity planning
  • Proactive approach to improving software engineering and release management
  • Ability to use project management tools such as Jira, Aha!, Confluence and distributed version control (Git)

Nice to have

  • Background in computer science, machine learning, deep learning, open source software, and GPU technology
  • Experience with production application software development, release/support, and DevOps
  • Experience managing customer workflows using large-scale distributed computing and working with AI researchers
  • Experience in training and evaluating AI models
  • Track record of process improvements and measuring efficiency
  • Passion for knowledge sharing and driving complex projects end-to-end
