Senior Technical Product Manager

Role overview

OpenMined is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to help turn cutting-edge privacy and AI research into products that data owners and data scientists can actually use. You’ll join a small, highly technical, early-stage team working before product-market fit, where discovery, iteration, and execution matter.

Responsibilities

• Drive discovery, experimentation, and delivery to take Syft from concept to product-market fit.
• Conduct user research and go-to-market experiments to uncover workflows, pain points, and incentives.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to define, build, and iterate on deeply technical products.
• Translate complex systems (including privacy-preserving computation, federated architectures, and LLM connectors) into intuitive user experiences.
• Stay current on privacy, AI, and data collaboration to anticipate technology, incentive, and regulatory shifts.
• Prototype quickly and code or debug as needed to accelerate learning.
• Identify and use key product signals (e.g., activation, retention, and mission alignment) to guide iteration.
• Communicate priorities and align a distributed team on execution and mission.
• Advocate for the voice of users so technical work remains grounded in real human needs.
• Engage with policy and standards communities and build strategic partnerships to advance responsible adoption.

Requirements

• 3+ years of product management experience (building or scaling technical products).

Nice-to-haves

• Strong comfort with technical depth (debugging workflows, reviewing code, and accelerating iteration).
• Experience working in ambiguous, early-stage environments with unclear roadmaps and tight timelines.
