About the role

Role Overview

Senior Technical Lead (Direct Hire, Remote - EST) You will own the design, build, and maintenance of robust, scalable applications across a portfolio of five mission-critical systems. As the primary technical expert, you will guide engineering work end-to-end and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver secure, user-friendly solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical expert/lead for a portfolio of five applications supporting a team of four staff.
Lead full-stack feature development from conception through deployment and ongoing support.
Build scalable backend services with Java (Spring Boot).
Build frontend services using React/TypeScript with Vite.
Use PostgreSQL for database services.
Lead troubleshooting, performance tuning, and resolution of complex technical issues.
Drive architecture decisions ensuring applications are secure, scalable, and usable.
Mentor and guide team members; document solutions and support knowledge sharing.
Advocate for DevOps practices and CI/CD automation using Git and GitLab.
Ensure security best practices across RESTful Web Services and SSO, and secure application design.
Collaborate in Agile (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
Implement and scale modern development practices (e.g., AI code assist) to improve team performance.

Requirements

8+ years overall software engineering experience.
5+ years in AWS services.
5+ years strong development experience in: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, REST APIs, HTML, CSS.
Experience designing and implementing scalable, user-friendly, secure applications.
Experience with RESTful Web Services, SSO, and security best practices.
Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
Ability to work across multiple projects and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

Familiarity with DevOps practices, Git/GitLab, and CI/CD automation.
Experience with Agile environments.
