Role overview
Senior DevOps Engineer / Technical Lead (AWS)
You will drive operational excellence by designing and maintaining reliable delivery pipelines and cloud/data-center infrastructure. You’ll mentor a team, optimize deployment and cloud resource usage, and implement monitoring and security improvements.
Responsibilities
- CI/CD: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to automate build, test, and deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code: Manage and configure infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation, with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security (including on-prem data center configurations).
- Monitoring & Alerting: Implement and maintain monitoring/alerting using AWS CloudWatch and other tools to ensure health and performance.
- Production troubleshooting: Collaborate with development/operations to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production, with deep understanding of on-prem data center integration.
- DevOps best practices: Continuously improve DevOps processes, tools, and workflows (focused on data center technologies).
- Cost & performance optimization: Optimize AWS resource usage and costs while maintaining high availability and performance, using AWS database services and cloud-native technologies.
- Security & compliance: Implement certificate upgrades, migrations, and other security tasks to meet industry standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering with expertise in data center technologies.
- Strong experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Networking fundamentals, security best practices, and infrastructure automation with a data-center security focus.
- Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IT (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice to have
- Advanced certifications in DevOps, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Strategic planning/project management skills and ability to prioritize by business impact.
- Experience with status tracking/reporting and accurate estimation of testing/deployment efforts.
