Senior Systems Engineer, CoreAI - Agentic Solutions (Remote)

Role Overview

The Home Depot is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer for the CoreAI team focused on agentic (generative AI) solutions. You will independently develop, maintain, and support the company’s generative AI and agentic infrastructure, acting as a consultative bridge between AI frameworks and enterprise business applications.

Responsibilities

• Delivery & Execution (30%)
  • Stay current with innovations and internal system changes; determine impacts to tooling, training, and support.
  • Participate in learning activities around modern systems engineering best practices.
  • Continuously learn via articles/tutorials/videos.
• Planning & Analysis (20%)
  • Research and analyze business trends and behavioral data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend technologies that meet Home Depot requirements cost-effectively.
  • Design infrastructure, network, database, cloud, AI, and security architectures.
  • Create and maintain monitoring/support tools; support cross-effort project planning and reporting.
• Support & Enablement (35%)
  • Collaborate with product/project teams to enable infrastructure needs.
  • Support architecture design reviews.
  • Monitor operational status of applications/infrastructure/networks/databases/security; optimize and tune performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortems for security incidents, hallucinations, distributed system bottlenecks, and outages.
  • Maintain/upgrade/support systems for stability; manage vendor tickets to resolution.
  • Produce in-house documentation; provide production application support.
  • Move KB articles to infrastructure-as-code models; keep monitoring/alerting up to date.

Requirements

• Independently develop, maintain, and support production-grade AI infrastructure.
• Architect robust, scalable systems from first principles.
• Lead technical discovery sessions.
• Establish governance for organizational-wide agent usage.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with AI security incident handling, system hallucination investigations, and post-mortem processes.
• Involvement in model upgrades and application support for generative AI systems.
