Senior System Engineer (Linux / Kubernetes) – Klinische IT (m/w/d)

Role Overview

Senior System Engineer (Linux / Kubernetes) to strengthen the TechOps team responsible for running the technical infrastructure of software solutions for hospital (Klinik) customers. You will bring Linux and Kubernetes expertise, provide technical input, and continuously evolve platforms and operating models with a strong focus on automation.

Responsibilities

• Own operations, further development, and troubleshooting of containerized platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, k3s)
• Automate deployments and operational processes using modern tooling (e.g., Argo CD, GitHub/Gitea Actions)
• Configure Kubernetes components such as Ingress (Traefik)
• Implement/maintain secrets management solutions (external-secrets, sealed-secrets)
• Diagnose complex infrastructure issues spanning Linux, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and security

Requirements

• Several years of productive experience operating Linux systems
• Strong Linux/OS knowledge (Ubuntu, Red Hat, LVM, PAM, OpenSSL, SSH)
• Strong Kubernetes & container knowledge (Kubernetes, Docker, k3s, ctr)
• Experience with deployment and automation (Argo CD, GitHub/Gitea Actions, Bash/shell scripting)
• Confident working with cloud-native technologies (Ingress/Traefik, external-secrets, sealed-secrets)
• Knowledge in infrastructure & security (networking, operations, high availability, performance, error analysis)
• Very good German (written and spoken)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Windows infrastructure (MS SQL Server, IIS, SMB, RDP)
