About the role

Role Overview

Join Stellar Cyber as a Senior Staff Software Engineer (full remote). You will design and implement scalable data processing components for the company’s Open XDR platform, working closely with machine learning researchers, UI/UX, and product management.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data processing components and supporting features for cybersecurity applications.
Monitor and resolve production stability issues related to these components and features.
Collaborate with machine learning/security researchers, UI/UX, and product management to align engineering work with evolving product needs and business goals.

Requirements

Experience with one or more of: Python, Java, Go.
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to communicate and document technical details effectively over text-based tools (e.g., Slack).
3+ years experience with data structures and algorithms (academic or industry).
3+ years experience with cloud computing and deployment technologies, including containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
3+ years software development experience or 2+ years with an advanced degree.
2+ years building backend functionalities for distributed systems, APIs (REST/gRPC), and microservices for ML or other data-intensive projects.
PhD in Computer Science with a research focus on software systems.
Experience building backend components such as threat detection engines in a cybersecurity product.
Experience working on machine learning platform teams and/or building tools/frameworks for researchers.
Experience with observability frameworks and practices in machine learning systems.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of machine learning and/or SecOps concepts.
