Senior Staff Software Engineer (Platform)

Role Overview

Join the Platform & Infrastructure team as a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Platform). You will own parts of the platform architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with product, research, and security to ensure infrastructure is secure, performant, and aligned with the company’s mission.

Key Missions

• Define and execute the long-term infrastructure vision.
• Design resilient distributed systems to support rapidly growing AI workloads.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior and mid-level engineers; promote high standards, code quality, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product, research, and security to ensure infrastructure is secure, efficient, and mission-aligned.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural strategy for platform and infrastructure.
• Decompose complex technical problems into actionable architectural designs.
• Influence technical strategy at a staff level and drive engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development; proven track record scaling complex distributed systems.
• Expertise in GPU/ML infrastructure for large training, data-generation, and inference workloads, including:
  • GPU scheduling and optimization
  • High-performance networking
• Strong experience with cloud-native infrastructure (preferably GCP), including Kubernetes at scale.
• Deep proficiency in architectural patterns for high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Ability to design incremental, actionable architecture plans.
• Demonstrated experience leading high-impact engineering teams (5+ years), including mentoring and influencing technical strategy.
• Experience operating in high-growth environments where infrastructure needs shift quickly.
• Experience with multi-tenant and data governance concerns, including data registries, lineage, and federated access for model tuning in high-IP environments.
• Experience in regulated/compliance-bound environments with requirements such as data residency, export controls, SOC2, and strict isolation.

• Prior work specifically involving federated access patterns for model tuning and highly restricted data environments.
