Senior/ Staff Product Manager, Walrus (Distributed Storage)

Role Overview

Senior/Staff Product Manager for Walrus (Distributed Storage) at Walrus Foundation (via Mysten Labs). You will own the core data platform and key product surfaces (including Walrus Sites and MemWal), shaping how developers and agents store, serve, govern, and monetize data in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve product strategy and roadmap for Walrus and its core surfaces (e.g., Walrus Sites and products built on top).
• Partner with engineering to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across storage and data delivery workflows.
• Define and ship developer-facing abstractions and experiences, such as:
  • Blob Management primitives
  • APIs, SDKs, CLIs, and documentation
• Drive product direction for emerging first-party applications built on Walrus (e.g., AI memory infrastructure like MemWal).
• Collaborate with GTM to evolve positioning and messaging for the ecosystem, especially around AI, data platforms, and developer infrastructure.
• Support internal teams and external partners adopting Walrus in production.
• Incorporate partner/ecosystem/operator feedback into clear priorities and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• 5+ years product management experience, including ownership of technical platform/infrastructure products used by developers, AI agents, or operators.
• Ability to own ambiguous end-to-end problems: discovery → execution → launch → iteration.
• Strong technical fluency working with engineers on APIs, data flows, performance tradeoffs, and system design.
• Experience leading multi-quarter initiatives across engineering, design, docs, developer relations, and external partners.
• Strong product judgment balancing developer/agent experience, constraints, scalability, and long-term platform direction.
• Clear communication translating complex systems into goals and narratives others can align around.

Nice to Have

• Experience shaping/scaling ecosystems (external builders, partners, foundations, community contributors).
• Exposure to AI, data monetization, datasets/marketplaces, agentic memory, or gated access use cases.
• Familiarity with security and privacy.
