Senior / Staff Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

Echo360 is seeking a Senior / Staff Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and operate high-impact features across its learning platform. The role is end-to-end, covering frontend, backend, production systems, and collaboration with infrastructure teams to deliver reliable and scalable applications on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend features using React and TypeScript
• Design and implement backend services and APIs with Node.js
• Own features end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and performance
• Collaborate with infrastructure/SRE teams to manage AWS environments with Terraform
• Improve reliability, observability, and performance (e.g., monitoring/APM)
• Contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and engineering standards
• Mentor and collaborate with engineers across teams
• For Staff level: lead design of complex systems and influence architectural decisions; raise the bar on practices (including CI/CD and developer workflows)

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React experience
• Experience with production databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis
• Experience building and operating production systems on AWS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployments
• Strong testing, documentation, and code review practices
• Understanding of system performance, monitoring, and reliability
• Ability to work with SRE/Infrastructure teams and take production ownership
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Python, Scala, or Backbone
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality

Leveling (Senior vs Staff)

• Senior: own and deliver features end-to-end with strong production execution
• Staff: lead system design, influence technical direction, and elevate engineering practices across teams

• Deliver production-ready, cross-stack features and systems
• Improve reliability/performance and developer workflows
• Strengthen engineering practices and team effectiveness; at Staff level, influence architecture and mentor broadly
