Senior Staff Engineer Software (Backend Prisma AIRS)

Role Overview

Join Palo Alto Networks as a Senior Staff Engineer (Backend) for the Prisma AIRS Red Teaming product. You’ll design and deliver backend solutions that power an industry-defining AI security offering, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and deliver backend solutions for Prisma AIRS Red Teaming.
• Lead architectural design and implementation of new backend features, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Define backend best practices and mentor junior engineers, promoting technical excellence.
• Build scalable distributed systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and frontend engineers to ship high-quality features.
• Contribute to systems that use data-driven approaches and follow secure-by-design and security best practices.

Requirements

• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• At least 4 years of related programming experience.
• Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
• Strong backend engineering skills with Python or Go.
• Experience with modern backend frameworks and tools.
• Asynchronous programming knowledge.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with senior and junior engineers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab Pipelines.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Experience with microservices architecture patterns.
• Experience building and scaling APIs.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and troubleshooting integration/performance issues.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-product integration.
