About the role

Role Overview

Senior Staff Engineer, Developer Productivity at Webflow. This is a remote-first, full-time permanent role in the United States (also references Canada: BC & ON). Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, Developer Productivity, you will help shape Webflow’s architecture by identifying and advocating for strategic changes.

Responsibilities

Drive engineering innovation across the company and stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
Lead research initiatives to explore new tools, frameworks, and methodologies
Guide the approach and execution for a team or group of teams
Tackle complex, critical problems and drive them to resolution
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to architect, design, and deliver high-quality solutions
Conduct thorough architectural reviews to help shape Webflow’s technology stack
Be a role model for engineering innovation with partners, customers, and investors
Mentor and coach engineers to foster continuous learning

Requirements

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
Passion for building internal platforms where developer experience is treated as a first-class product
Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
Hands-on modern web experience with React and Node.js
Experience with styling/UI workflows using Tailwind CSS
Experience with framework(s) such as Next.js and Remix
Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Extensive experience designing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and integrating third-party APIs
Experience architecting and productionizing safe, observable, self-service agentic AI solutions for developer workflows
- Including CI/CD throughput improvements
- Establishing usage and governance telemetry
Deep understanding of monorepo management and the architectural patterns needed to maintain performance and developer sanity at scale

Nice to Have / Additional Emphasis

Strong ability to navigate architectural trade-offs (text cuts off, but the role emphasizes decision-making under complexity)
