Senior / Staff DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer at Vouched to design and operate reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure for an identity verification platform.

Responsibilities

• Improve and develop infrastructure reliability across the full product lifecycle: architecture, provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure services are observable, performant, and resilient; provide automation, tooling, and guardrails to ship quickly and safely.
• Embed security and compliance controls directly into infrastructure (not bolted on later), including:
  • Least-privilege access
  • Encryption
  • Auditability
• Help maintain and advance compliance posture across SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR (and similar frameworks).
• Lead operational excellence and shared accountability via incident response and risk communication.
• Foster practices that reduce toil and resolve issues before they impact customers.
• Use modern AI-powered tools to accelerate infrastructure/platform work, converting operational knowledge into reproducible, tested automation (e.g., runbooks, infrastructure-as-code).

Requirements / Skills

• Deep operational expertise with strong software engineering instincts.
• Fluent use of AI tooling to accelerate delivery (expected experience with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot).
• Ability to use AI-accelerated workflows to:
  • scaffold pipelines
  • draft Terraform modules
  • accelerate incident triage
  • build internal tooling and runbooks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams.
• Bias toward action in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Proven ability to lead incident response and drive continuous improvement in reliability and automation.
