Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer

About the role

Join our growing team as a Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will design and implement infrastructure as code, manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with development teams to provide effective infrastructure solutions. You will also plan and execute strategies for scaling infrastructure, optimize cloud resource usage, and automate repetitive tasks. Key missions: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement infrastructure as code using Pulumi and TypeScript.. Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for application deployment, scaling, and monitoring.. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using BuildKite to automate testing, building, and deployment processes. Profile: - Proficiency in TypeScript for writing and maintaining infrastructure code - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities - Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Honeycomb, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams - Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments - Proven experience with infrastructure as code, ideally using Pulumi - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Experience with CI/CD tools like BuildKite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI - Participate in on-call rotations during working hours to support production systems - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management and orchestration - Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker - Scripting skills in languages like Ruby, Python, and Bash - Experience with database management and optimization - Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications - Experience implementing security best practices to ensure compliance across the infrastructure - Experience with our chosen technologies and services: Pulumi, GKE, TypeScript, BuildKite, Honeycomb
