About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Staff Data Engineer on SmithRx’s Data Engineering team, you will transform streaming and other data sources into insights that directly address real-world Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) challenges. Your work will enable Data Analytics and Machine Learning teams to deliver drug pricing transparency for customers.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain distributed systems to collect, aggregate, and govern pharmaceutical data
Support end-to-end data pipelines for analytics and ML use cases
Use open-source data tooling to build reliable, scalable data workflows

Requirements

Strong data engineering background with experience building and operating distributed data systems
Proven ability to deliver data pipelines that support analytics and machine learning
Experience working with modern data tools such as Airflow and dbt (DBT mentioned)

Nice-to-haves

Experience in the health-tech or pharmaceutical/pharmacy benefits domain
Experience with data governance and enterprise data quality practices
