Senior Specialist, Data Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Specialist, Data Engineer on L3Harris’ Enterprise Data and AI team. You will support the company’s modern data platform (Unified Data Layer) by building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines, ensuring data quality and standards, and enabling actionable analytics through Palantir Foundry.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust enterprise data pipelines for reliable data flow.
• Operate and monitor pipeline schedules/workflows to ensure continuous data availability.
• Create, update, and optimize data connections, datasets, and transformations.
• Troubleshoot data synchronization and resolve data sync issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold data quality standards and ensure correct data for users.
• Use Palantir Foundry to connect to source applications, extract/load data, and develop logical data models.
• Implement data cleansing, consolidation, and integration mechanisms for big data analytics at scale.
• Build and support visualizations/dashboards in Palantir Foundry; assist users with testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and data maintenance guides.

Requirements

• Education plus Palantir experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree + 6+ years of prior Palantir experience, or
  • Graduate degree + 4+ years of prior Palantir experience, or
  • In lieu of degree: 10+ years of prior Palantir experience.
• 4+ years with data pipeline development or ETL tools (including Palantir Foundry, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Python).
• 4+ years data integration experience.
• 4+ years designing/building data pipelines in Palantir Foundry Pipeline Builder (or code repo), plus PySpark and Spark SQL, including data build/sync schedule deployment in Palantir.

Preferred Additional Skills

• BI/DW methodology knowledge.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Python, Pandas, Databricks, JavaScript/TypeScript, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Informatica, or Talend.
