About the role

Role Overview

Verizon is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Engineer to support the deployment and operation of real-time machine learning solutions on AWS. You will help migrate workloads from on-premises to cloud, operationalize secure platforms, and enable reliable CI/CD-driven releases.

Responsibilities

Migrate and operate real-time ML models on AWS EKS, transitioning from on-prem environments.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Argo CD, Jenkins, Git) to support blue/green and automated deployments.
Provision and manage infrastructure:
- Kubernetes templates, Helm charts, Docker images
- Istio configurations
- PostgreSQL databases and S3 storage
Conduct security audits, remediation, and vulnerability fixes for microservices to ensure compliance and resilience.
Configure and maintain security controls (firewalls, security groups, and automated security scanning).
Monitor application and infrastructure health using centralized logging and alerting.
Build and manage Linux-based EC2 instances using configuration management/automation.
Collaborate with global development teams for code reviews, technical guidance, and platform issue resolution.
Administer API management resources with security standards (threat protection and API key management).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Strong AWS knowledge, including EKS, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda.
Containerization/orchestration experience: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Istio.
Programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and Java.
Experience with backend/frontend frameworks: Node.js, Express, React.
Relational databases and SQL knowledge.
CI/CD experience and familiarity with Agile/Scrum.

Nice to Have

Kubernetes (CKAD) and/or AWS Developer Associate certification.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Work Setting

Remote role working from home with occasional in-person trainings/meetings.
